DJ Set

How does it work?

After receiving your email/web form, I will get in touch with a quote and possible timescale for the project. If you are happy to proceed, we will arrange for an initial email/zoom "consultation" to assess what you need and find out more about the project.

I will provide invoices and PDFs on how to prepare your files.

For larger scale projects (mixing/mastering albums etc), I require full payment upfront.

For smaller scale projects I require a 50% deposit, and you will receive a demo version of your track to sign off on, before full payment is necessary.

For one-off stereo mastering, you will receive a demo of your track to sign off on, before any payment is necessary.

Editing with Headphones

How long will it take to complete?

This will depend on the project/number of tracks/level of detail required.

My standard turnaround time for a full mix is 7 days. Mastering, Editing and Drum Tracks are 2/3 days. I will always let you know roughly how long it will take, but please specify if you need a faster turnaround time.

How can I pay?

PayPal is the preferred method although bank transfer (FPS) also accepted. Unfortunately I do not accept direct card payments at this time.

Microphone Sound Editing

My quote came back more expensive than your standard rate, why?

My standard rates are based on tracks up to 4 minutes long, a mid-sized project (10-20 tracks) and my standard turnaround time. If you have longer tracks, a larger project, more detailed work or need a fast turnaround then it may cost more.

How do I prepare my files for mixing?

  • Bypass any plug-ins that might interfere with the mixing - namely reverbs, delays, compression and EQ - unless it is part of the sound / arrangement - however you could send a demo mix instead to illustrate this.

  • Export individual tracks from your DAW, preferably in a lossless format (.WAV or .AIFF) and at 44.1 kHz / 24 bit (minimum).

  • Feel free to send a 'demo' mix along with your multitracks, which I can use as a reference.

  • Clearly label all multitracks and place in a folder titled with your name/artist name and the song title.

  • Transfer files via Dropbox or WeTransfer

How do I prepare my files for stereo mastering?

  • Generally, bypass any plug-ins on your mix bus or master bus - compression, limiting etc.

  • Try to leave roughly 3-6dB of headroom (master bus peak level no higher than -3 dB).

  • Make sure there is no clipping taking place on the master output.

  • Bounce your mix down to a single stereo file, in a lossless format (.WAV or .AIFF), preferably at 44.1 kHz / 24 bit (minimum).

  • Again, feel free to send a demo 'master' if you prefer, which I will be able to use as a reference.

  • Transfer files via Dropbox or WeTransfer

Turn Table

How do I prepare my files for stem mastering?

  • Follow the same steps as stereo mastering but instead of bouncing down to a single stereo file, you will need to bounce down to separate instrument groups. You can usually do this by soloing the relevant instruments and exporting a mix.

  • For example, Drums, Guitars, Backing vocals, Lead vocals, and Bass would all come to me as separate audio files.

  • Alternatively, you could only have separate stems for Instrumental and Vocal.

  • Again, bypass additional master bus processing and check peak level.

  • Bounce your stems down to a lossless format (.WAV or .AIFF) and preferably at 44.1 kHz / 24 bit (minimum).

  • Again, feel free to send a demo 'master' if you prefer, which I will be able to use as a reference.

  • Transfer files via Dropbox or WeTransfer

Do you offer free samples?

For standard mastering, I offer a free sample with no initial consultation. All you need to do is send me your stereo audio file and i'll get back to you with a sample master. If you like what you hear, you will be able to pay for the full file.

Mixing is more of an involved process and therefore I cannot offer free samples, but please check the examples section to hear some of my previous work.

Similarly for editing and drum tracks, I cannot offer free samples, but please remember as part of the service I always offer three free revisions for each song/track - if you would like changes made this will be accommodated.

How does tuition or consultation work?

Tuition sessions are booked by the hour and take place over Zoom. We can cover any topics you like, including general production, mixing, mastering, editing, MIDI programming, songwriting and arranging.

Similarly, consultation involves working with you on a project - single, ep or album - and offering advice and support. We will usually use Zoom, booked in hour slots, although this format can change depending on your needs.

I also offer a free review service - simply email your song/mix and I'll give you some feedback.

Using Audiomovers LISTENTO for high-quality audio streaming straight from our DAWs, combined with Zoom, we can work on projects in real time.
